Links

Now, if you still can't get enough, have a look at these links...

Visit PictaviaPictavia is on the outskirts of Brechin, Angus. There you will find a host of information about pictish remains, much of it computer-based.

At this site there is a tourist information information office, cafe, and a garden centre. There is also a country park and nature trail at Brechin Castle.

Pictavia may be contacted on 01356 626 241, the tourist information centre may be contacted on 01356 623 050.

Archaeolink is at Oyne, near Insch, Aberdeenshire. Outdoors, there is a real hill-fort, and there are also reconstructions of a henge, bronze-age smithy, stone-age camp, iron-age farm, roman marching camp and stone circle.

Indoors, there is a film-show "Circle of Time", a gallery of myths and legends, a prehistoric crafts activities room, a quiz-sheet available from reception, guided tours, a tree trail to find out how trees and plants were used in pre-history, plus special events.

At Archaeolink there is also a souvenir shop and a coffee-shop. Must remember to take their picture next time I visit.

Archæo Links

This a huge list of related sites, maintained by Paola Arosio and Diego Meozzi. Go visit them!

Further Reading

This is a fairly extensive list of bed-time reading. Many of these books have helped us find monuments in areas which we have visited.
